This week in PE Lions have been practising their throwing and catching skills. We started our session with a game (cups and saucers) where one team had to turn the cones the right way up and the other team had to try and turn them the wrong way up! It was a very close game with only 2 more cones turned for the winning team! We then worked with a partner to do controlled underarm throws that they could catch. Then we had the chance to have a go at using rackets to hit the ball when our partner did an underarm throw. This was the first time we have tried hitting a ball that our partner has thrown to us and Miss Amis was super impressed!

Hairdresser
The Tigers were visited by a real hairdresser today. She told us all about how she cuts hair and what it's like to go the hairdressers. She showed us all the different things you use in a hairdressers - there were so many! She even left us some things to use in our role play area. What a fantastic treat!

Clay Penguins
Today in art the Lions were super excited to use a media that they don't often get to use - clay! We had lots of fun exploring the texture of the clay and moulding it into different shapes using our hands. We were making a clay penguin with its egg standing on a block of ice. We also had fun using different tools to make different marks in our clay. Have a look at us in action below and keep your eyes on the blog for our painted and finished pieces next week!

Tigers' Forest Schools
This week Ms Wones took us for our Forest Schools. It was soooo exciting. We had a campfire and hot chocolate with marshmallows. We couldn't wait to tell Mrs Butcher when we got back to the classroom and made a book all about the things we had done.

Puppets! Puppets! Puppets!
This week the Lions were very lucky as we had the pleasure of having Emma and Megan from the puppet theatre in for 2 days! We spent lots of time on the first day doing some drama and talking about animal habitats. We discussed what would be in each habitat and how they were different. On the second day we spent lots of time making our puppets! Lots of the Lions decided to merge 2 animals together for their puppet.. we had a Merseal (mermaid + seal), a Pual (pug + seal) and a Tricameltop (triceratops + camel)! Everyone worked really hard and thought carefully about the materials they were using. We all had such an amazing time making them and Tigers were super impressed when we showed them what we had made. After we made our puppets we had lots of fun creating puppet shows together! Have a look at some of our fantastic puppets below..

Ordering Numbers
The Tigers have been busy learning their numbers. Each day we have a special number we focus on. We create colourful numbers and find different ways to represent them. With our hats theme we have hat numbers in the class, lots of us have enjoyed putting them in the correct order.

Norwich Puppet Theatre
Today Lions went to Norwich Puppet Theatre to watch Thumbelina. All the children had a great time watching the show, which was very funny and got lots of giggles! We also had a great time after lunch exploring all the different types of puppets and getting to use some of them. We had to be careful because some of them were very old and delicate! Miss Amis and Miss Cushion were delighted with the behaviour of all the children, well done Lions!
