RSPB Visit

On Tuesday the Lions had a very special visit from Clare from the RSPB. We talked about lots of different animals, focusing on birds and animals that live in the woods. Clare set us a challenge to say as many verbs as we could to describe the movements and actions of the animals on the videos. We then went outside and imagined that we were a hedgehog or a ladybird. We were challenged to describe what we would feel and touch as we moved along as one of these animals.

Spring Walk

On Monday Lions and Tigers joined together to go and search for signs of Spring! We began by talking about all the things that we might see and we made a Spring Hunt checklist that we could tick off as we walked. We had a great time working together and we found lots of signs of Spring.. have a look at the pictures below!

Weaving

As always the Lions have been working really hard this week, in particular with finishing their weaving projects. We spent lots of time this week tying knots in our wool, cutting odd ends off, finding a suitable stick to hang our weaving on and evaluating our project. I am really proud and impressed with what the Lions have created and I hope you enjoy looking at them!

Federation Day at Sutton

On Thursday the Lions and Tigers had a super exciting day as we visited Sutton for our Science Federation Day! We spent the whole day moving around different activities and trying lots of exciting things. The activities included trying to make a boat from natural materials and seeing if it would hold any weight, rolling cans with different foods inside to see which would roll the furthest, making a nest that would hold a hard boiled egg, creating posters to spread awareness of plastic in our oceans and we got to hold lots of different animals including a snake and tarantula!! We all had a great time and also really enjoyed meeting and playing with our friends from Hickling and Sutton. Have a look at some pictures of the day below..

A morning with the Panthers

This morning the Tigers and a group of Panthers joined together to do a shared Forest Schools session. We started the morning with a walk around the field which needed us to use our problem solving skills especially with walking through very muddy puddles. (Some of us were very close to getting stuck and loosing our boots!!). We came back to school for hot chocolate and then worked together building dens, exploring the school grounds and climbing trees.

World Book Day!

Wow Lions and Tigers certainly impressed us with their costumes for World Book Day this week! You all looked amazing! During the morning the children took part in lots of activities linked to books including decorating biscuits to look like Elmer, making book marks and creating potions for George's Marvellous Medicine! Have a look at some of us below..

We love our Mummies

This week, as a special treat, we decided to bake all of our Mummies some yummy biscuits for Mothering Sunday. We also made enough so everyone in our special Mother's Day assembly could have some. We worked really hard reading the recipe, measuring the ingredients and taking turns. The final biscuits were fantastic!
