Dingle, Dangle Scarecrow

This week we all took part in our school Harvest Assembly and danced to 'Dingle, Dangle Scarecrow'. Our moves were awesome! We also listened very carefully to our visitors. Helen Middleton told us how important Harvest is in the Christian year. Marion, from'The Peoples' Picnic',

talked to us all about how our donations will help homeless people in the city to have a warm meal.

We love music!

Today Lions had a great time in music. We listened to a new song and discussed what we liked and didn't like about it. We also sang our song 'Hands, Feet and Heart' from last week and put actions to it. We had some awesome ideas for actions! Then we had a go at playing a glockenspiel in time to the music! Some of us played G notes, some played A notes and others C notes. We listened very carefully for when we needed to play and Miss Amis was really impressed. Lions also wowed Miss Amis with their recorder playing too! Well done Lions :)

Fabulous Free Flow

The Tigers really love their Free Flow time and it is here that some of the very best learning happens. This week we have been: feeding and caring for our pets in the Vets, painting pictures of our Mums, building fire hoses, playing dominoes and doing puzzles. No wonder we are so tired by the end of a Friday!

Welcome back!

Welcome back everyone! We hope you all had a lovely Summer holidays!

This week we have been busy settling back into routines and learning the different expectations of our new classrooms. We have all loved being back with our friends!

This week Lions have been very busy in all areas of the curriculum. In English everyone has completed some super writing about their families and in topic we have been looking at where we live.

In maths we have been focusing on place value and I have been really impressed with everyone! The children have been making numbers using the numicon and dienes and they have been explaining how many tens and ones are in a number. We also had a go at comparing some numbers with the more than (>) and less than (<) symbols. Have a look at some of us in action below..
